What it collects

Only business facts, never private data:

• Business name, address, opening hours, category or cuisine, and links such as the business website.
• Business contact details that are published for customers (phone, email). These are used only to show the listing and are never used for marketing or unsolicited messages.

It does not collect images, reviews, descriptive texts or the names of private individuals (owners, contact persons, organisers).

Where the data comes from

• OpenStreetMap: through the public Overpass API, and Nominatim to complete street addresses. OpenStreetMap data is available under the Open Database License; listings built from it show “Data © OpenStreetMap contributors”.
• Business websites: when myLokaalBot visits a business's own website, it reads only a few public pages (for example contact, imprint, opening hours or menu) to check the facts above.

How it behaves on websites

• It obeys robots.txt rules for myLokaalBot and for *.
• It honours text-and-data-mining opt-outs (§ 44b UrhG): the tdm-reservation HTTP header, /.well-known/tdmrep.json and <meta name="tdm-reservation" content="1">. A site that opts out is skipped entirely.
• It is slow on purpose: at most one request every five seconds per website, and it respects Retry-After.
• It stays on the business's own domain, does not follow external links, and does not visit directories, review sites, social networks or job boards.

Nothing goes live automatically

Everything myLokaalBot finds goes into a private review queue. A person on the myLokaal team checks each listing before it is published. Published listings are marked as unclaimed until the business owner claims them.

Listings compiled from public sources carry a Claim it link, so the owner can take the listing over and edit it, and a Request removal link. You can also write to us directly.
